This listing is for a printable version of my Grammar Sorting Mats, which are used to sort the cards found in the Grammar Filling Envelopes.
Because I know that premium materials are not always in a homeschooler’s budget, I’ve created this printed version of my Elementary Grammar Mats. These are for children ages 6+, for those who have already had the Key Experience Lessons and who are reading fluently.
Instructions for assembly:
Print on legal- sized paper and paste the images to tag board. If your materials are for use with several children, you may also decide to laminate once you finish. Your completed mats should look like the images on the front page. The final two mats will require a little more assembly. Simply paste the long yellow rectangle above the top of one set of the boxes that follow it, and the long blue rectangle above the second set.
Basic instructions for use:
These are to be used alongside the Grammar Filling Material available in my shop. There are several exercises to accompany each mat. Beginning with the article/noun mat and filling materials, have the child place the sentence/phrase strips on the large rectangle and the small square cards according to color on the part- of -speech squares on the mat. Next help the child to choose a sentence card and then rebuild it using the individual words sorted on the part -of -speech squares.

Montessori Grammar Materials are a lovely and hands-on way to teach Grammar to children, ages 6-12. They are also excellent for those learning English as a second language. You and your children will be enchanted by the colors and quality found in these materials.
