A big thing in the Montessori classroom is using real objects or real images when available. This connects the child to their environment and gives a tangible applicability to each lesson.
In this Montessori Inspired Color Sorting activity, the child will be able to classify each real world item (cars, flowers, buildings, etc) into their separate colors.
Each activity comes with 3 different types of sorting mats and can be used for the youngest of children with only a few options up to using every single image for those a little more advanced.
This activity is perfect for a toddler class, a younger new student in a montessori classroom or in a homeschool coop or preschool & daycare.
Control of error is also a huge part of the Montessori philosophy so I have also included a second set of image cards that have a colored border that matches the correct color mat.
These Color Sorting activities are great for:
√ classification of objects
√ color recognition
√ visual discrimination
√ hand-eye coordination
√ fine motor skills
