Introduce or reinforce place value, while bolstering addition basic facts and mental math. Excellent preparation for carrying in addition. Students roll a dice (1 or 2) to collect units, which are then exchanged for tens and eventually 100 in one continual addition problem. The first player to exchange ten 10s for a 100 piece is the winner. Play in small groups, one on one with the teacher, or individually. Perfect for K/1 math learning centers or adaptable to an individual file folder game. Can also be played cooperatively.
