The Math Master practice books allow children to monitor their own progress as they practice using a variety of Montessori math tools to explore counting and writing numbers to 10 at their own pace. The first page of the book features a visual check list, allowing the child to track which counting materials lessons they have completed. The following 48 pages use a visual cue to recommend a tool to assist the child in counting. Each page features a heading number line including all the numbers possibly used on that page.
Types of practice pages included are:
-introduction to numbers 1-10 and 0, one at a time
-matching number rods, beads, or counters to numerals
-writing numerals to represent number rods, beads, or counters
-coloring spindles or counters to represent number rods
-comparing bigger and smaller numbers
-number handwriting up to 10
-counting up within 10
The book culminates in a 3 page "test" that the child completes at the direction of the teacher (teacher directions included).
Color-coded silver as the first of the Montessori Math Master Books. No page numbers included, so you can add your own pages as desired to create a custom workbook.
This tool is recommended to be introduced to the child only after they have established a strong concrete and verbal foundation and are ready to explore more abstract representations of the concepts.
Aligned to common core standards for Kindergarten math.
