Bring science to life with these templates and command/task cards designed for introducing the process of photosynthesis to elementary students. Students will build models of oxygen, carbon dioxide, water, and glucose.
File includes initial lesson presentation with templates and control cards for each molecule that is part of the photosynthesis process. Also included are command/task cards for individual follow up. It is recommended that the files be printed on card stock and laminated for durability. Alternatively, the molecules could be cut from felt for more presentation options.
Concepts to emphasize: We breathe out carbon dioxide and the plants refresh the air into oxygen that we breath in. Glucose is the sun’s energy stored by plants. When we eat plants, or eat animals that eat plants we are consuming the energy of the sun. All energy comes from the sun and plants are vital to all of the energy needs for living organisms.
