Pair both these files together for a great resource for your students. Print the reading log on one side and the AR tracker on the back.
ABOUT MONTHLY READING LOGS
These monthly reading logs are designed to create an excitement around reading at home. Research shows that students only grow in their reading capabilities if they are provided the opportunity to read EACH day! Why not encourage your students to read at home with these fun calendars!?
Calendars for August 2018-June 19 have been created for students to set goals, read, and track their reading each month by coloring in a fun picture. Each month, students will set a reading goal for their at home reading. Students will color in a picture for each day they read a minimum of 20 minutes at home. These reading logs include the weekend, allowing students the flexibility of reading when it is convenient for their busy schedules. Parents will initial at the end of each week.
These reading logs are very simple. Just print, copy, and send home to your students. Students will return the logs at the end of the month. Teachers may also print all the months in advance and place all the reading logs for the year in each students "Take Home" folder or binder. To encourage students to read every day or reach their goals, you can celebrate their accomplishments in class. The possibilities are endless.
These reading logs have multiple options for each month to include holidays and breaks (to include different holidays/breaks your school may have). There are multiple options for each month in include or exclude breaks. If you need a month with a different holiday or break, let me know and I will be happy to update the file ASAP.
ABOUT THE AR TRACKERS
The AR Trackers contains two fantastic trackers for your students to log their reading and check off once they completed an AR Test on the computer.
There are 2 different versions of these monthly trackers. The first option includes directions for students to read their books 3 times (once with an adult). They will write the title down, check of the 3 boxes for reading the book 3 times, and then check off the last box, showing they took the AR test at school.
The second option has a space for the title and a space to check once they take their AR test.
