Involve your students in keeping track of the weather each day. My students use these each day during math. We determine the weather and shade in the correct box.
I also have conversations with my students using important vocabulary and math concepts.
-Which weather has the most?
- How many more does _____ have?
- How many more would ____ need to have the same amount?
- How many days have we recorded the weather?
This is a quick activity that could be kept in a math journal, or done as a class on the calendar wall. There is a color recording sheet, a black and white recording sheet, and a black and white worksheet included. I copy a worksheet for each student and include one on my calendar wall.
