This “Months of the Year” unit is jammed full of activities to teach the months of the year to your students.

Blog Post: Months of the Year Unit
1.Spell the month of the year cards: Use the letter cards to spell the months of the year. Each month is on a different color card. These fit great in a pocket chart.
2.Three sets of month cards. Use these to practice reading and putting the months in order. These fit perfect in a pocket chart too.
3.Ordinal Word Center: 12 cards & a recording sheet are included. The cards ask questions like: “What is the first month?”
4.Before and After Center: 12 cards & a recording sheet are included. Students are asked questions like: “What month comes after January?” or “What month comes before August?”
5.Digit Date Center: 12 cards & a recording sheet are included. Students look at the cards that have a digit date and write the expanded date on the recording sheet. For example: Card says 1-4-13. Students write January 4, 2013.
6.Cut, Glue & Spell the Months: Letter cards to cut, glue & spell the months of the year.
7.Two write the months in order practice sheets.
8.Two cut & glue the months in order sheet.
9.Read & Follow Directions Months Sheet. Students are given written directions to color the letters in each month. 12 sheets/1 for each month.
10.Cut, Glue and Spell the Months Sheets: Students cut and glue the letters to spell each individual month. 12 sheets/1 for each month.
11.Write & Find Sheets: Students practice writing each month then finding it on the sheet. 12 sheets/1 for each month.
12.Cut & Glue months in order. These fit perfect going vertical on a sentence strip.
13.Read and Write the Room: 12 cards & a recording sheet.
