Description

Task cards to help students identify mood and tone. There are a total of 46 task cards with color pictures.

The mood task cards have pictures of setting and characters. Students identify what mood the setting or character help to create. There are 20 cards at each level. For tone, there are short reading passages. Students identify what the author's tone is.

Differentiated

There are 8 cards at each level. There are two versions of each card, one with multiple choice answers and one without.

Also included is a visual list of vocabulary words that can be used to describe mood and author's tone and a recording sheet to use with the task cards.

Digital

Task cards- students draw an x to the correct mood or tone for each picture or passage.

Writing- Students type the mood or tone and then describe why they made that choice.

The digital mood and tone task cards are available in Google Slides.
