PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Part 2 The Sun:
Once the Moon side is done, then the Sun side can be done by turning the blank side up. After you model how to do the center divide the sun in as many pie pieces as you need with a marker so every four-student team has a piece of the pie. The trick is to give gloves to the students and a small amount of paint, for every four students three will have yellow paint and 1 will have red, pour with one hand and use only the gloved fingers, not palms to fill their pie piece. Please ask them to not mix it completely since the sun is as fire, and it is an ever changing orange yellow. Use orange, yellow and red tissue paper and twist it longways, make an arch and glue the two extremes. Explain that fire is ever-changing and that it is unpredictable and flares up which affects our weather and electromagnetic field. You can go as deep as you need for your G&T kids and have them choose a sun-based project.
Hang the Sun/Moon for the rest of the year from the ceiling, after the students label SUN and Sun Flare. On the other side they wrote 'moon', you can add Crater to the ESL vocabulary wall.
