Pg. 7-8 Roll and Spell – roll the dice to see what you will use to write your spelling words, marker, crayon, colored pencil, pen, pencil, or your choice – write each spelling word three times
Pg. 9-11 My Comprehension Flip It! – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid line, cut on the dotted lines and fill out
Pg. 12-16 Moon Prefixes – cut out the moon and the three strips of paper, cut on the vertical dotted lines on the moon, insert the strips up through the opening and down through the opening, fill in the base words to go with the different prefixes – copy pages A and B back to back to form your prefix book – choose three words for each prefix to illustrate and use in a sentence
Pg. 17-23 My Prepositional Phrase Story – cut out the prepositions and place them face down in a pile – copy the Prepositional Phrase book by copying pages A and B back to back – choose 7 prepositions from the pile – write a fun story. Use one preposition on each page
Pg. 24-26 The Award Goes to… - choose a friend that you feel deserves an award for their sportsman like attitude, their kindness towards others, etc. - copy the gold medal onto yellow construction paper, write the person’s name on the award, add ribbons – attach the writing paper and award to a large piece of paper as seen in the example
Pg. 27-29 Homophones, Homographs, Homonyms – a graphic organizer that you can write examples and use them in sentences to show their individual meanings –copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the vertical line and cut on the dotted lines – flip up and fill out
Pg. 30-34 Understanding Characters Pocket – fold the paper in half to form a pocket, cut out the tabbed cards, fill them out and place them in the pocket
