This pack of resources is perfect for your K and grade 1 library students! These printables will help you to assess and reinforce your lessons on ABC order, using a shelf marker, identifying nonfiction/fiction/easy reader call numbers, and library vocab terms such as characters, illustrations, and title.
Eight activities are included:
.Super Shelf Marker Coloring Page - This cute coloring page will be so fun for your kindergarteners to color during your lessons on how to use a shelf marker.
.Illustrations Worksheet - This page allows students to color the letters in the word "illustrations," includes the definition of "illustrations," and asks students to draw an illustration of their favorite animal.
.Library ABC Order - On this page, students rewrite eight library-related words in alphabetical order.
.Title Worksheet - This page allows students to color the letters in the word "title" and includes the definition of "title." To provide you with different options, two versions of the same activity are included - one asks students to pretend that they are an author and to write the title of their first book, and a second version of this worksheet asks students to write the title of the book that was read today.
.Fiction Mice or Nonfiction Mice? - This page asks that students color code pictures of mice based on whether they have a fiction or nonfiction call number on their backs. Two versions of the same activity are included to meet the needs of your library; one has fiction abbreviated as "FIC" and one has fiction abbreviated as "F".
.Character Worksheet - This worksheet defines the word "character" in a story and then asks students to draw characters. This worksheet allows for flexibility because three versions of this activity are included; one asks students to draw characters from the book that was just read in library class, one references drawing characters from a book that was just read together, and one asks students to draw their favorite characters from their favorite fiction books.
.Animal ABC Order Cut & Paste - Students must cut out, arrange, and glue the names of five animals in ABC order.
.These Call Numbers Are Bananas! - Students must color code cheerful bananas based on whether they have Easy Reader Fiction Call numbers ("E") or nonfiction call numbers.
