This is a comprehensive unit that explicitly teaches students the concepts of "More or Less". It provides sixty slides of interactive fun and engaging content that will allow students to demonstrate understanding. There is an abundance of language embedded in this unit as it introduces new vocabulary, answering questions, following simple directions, phonology, auditory comprehension and expressive language. This unit displays nicely on interactive media for whole group instruction, tablets and teletherapy platforms for small group instruction, or it could be printed and included in literacy and/or math centers.
This lesson includes:
* Thirty slides devoted to explicit instruction with multiple examples of what it means for something to be more or less. There are opportunities for students to practice expressive language skills and demonstrate their ability to answer questions related to "who" has more or less. Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to count the items and differentiate between which group is more or less.
* There are 26 simple word problems that will address auditory comprehension while practicing the concept of more or less. All 26 letters of the alphabet are represented over 26 separate slides to include 13 opportunities for students to demonstrate their ability to differentiate between groups that have more and 13 opportunities to identify which group is less than the number presented in the problem.
* Introduction of new vocabulary related to animals, fruits, and vegetables. There are also opportunities to demonstrate the ability to follow simple directions.
* NOTE: You will receive TWO file formats to decide which works best for you! There is a flat PDF file that can be used on a variety of devices (PDF's display nicely on interactive boards, tablets, and teletherapy platforms). You will also receive a .ppsx file that allows for interactive "gameplay" however, Powerpoint is required for all features of the game to work properly when using the .ppsx file.
If you like this unit, please take a look at my "Same or Different", "Rhyme Time", and "Can You Describe That" lessons which are a great progression towards the ability to differentiate and provide more detailed descriptions.
