The weekend update dice can be used in a variety of ways to add excitement to the share portion of your morning meeting! Have students think about their weekend, and choose one thing they did. Then, have them roll the die and answer the question based on their weekend activity. This helps children practice speaking and listening skills, as well as responding to specific questions. Not to mention, it helps shorten up those long-winded Monday morning stories!
To use the dice, simply cut out the template and assemble. I suggest using cardstock so dice can be used again and again. You can make enough dice so students can share in partners or small groups, or make one die to pass around the circle! Either way, students will be engaged in this fun sharing activity.
The template is provided in both blackline and color for your convenience.
