Morning Meeting time is a daily 15 minute activity for students with autism or a communication disorder who need extra practice expressing their personal information including name, address, phone number, birthday, age, parents' names, and gender. The printable pages also ask the student to reflect on the current season and weather. A teacher or parent can print the desired pages, use the Microsoft Word document with appropriately sized grids to add the student's personal information, and begin asking the important identification questions.

Voice output devices are easily set up to ensure that nonverbal learners can actively participate. Those new to the activity can be trained by using a simple hand-over-hand method. My students with mild to severe disabilities work on this skill daily in small groups with an adult facilitator. I highly recommend this activity for any student who needs continual practice communication their safety information. It can also be used for lower elementary aged students who are learning their personal information and becoming emergent readers.
