Routines in general are a vital piece of a smooth running classroom. Morning routines help to set the tone for the day and help create a student centered classroom.
Using tools to take lunch count saves time and sanity. Train your students to move tags, count, and done! There are 2 suggested uses of these cards. Besides the items in this document, you need a pocket chart. Depending on the option you choose and the size of the pocket chart, you can print whichever of the two sizes of cards that meet your needs.
Why struggle with changing 20+ jobs every week and micromanage your class until you turn gray? Job helper tags are the key to easily manage your students. Just print, cut, laminate, and hang the cards on a ring. Make 2 or 3 sets. Each set will represent one helper for the day. When you need something done (office delivery, library book turn in, copies, lunch count, etc.) just have your helpers do it. Flip a card daily. Before you know it, your students will be keeping track of this and you won't have to worry! At the end of the week, keep all students accountable for helping by doing a full room cleanup where they all help!
