Product Description

Start your day in kindergarten and first grade with morning tubs and let your students socialize, play and explore to ease them into the day. Using morning tubs for morning work is a great way to let you students work on important math skills in a playful way.

This Morning Tub is also available as part of a money saving BUNDLE. You can check out all the sets included and save money by purchasing the whole set here: Morning Tub Tasks Growing Bundle.

The goal for my morning tubs is to create activities that use common classroom manipulatives and items. They are low - prep; just print the student pages or instructions and you are ready to go.

This set contains 6 different activities to be used with counting bears. There are detailed teacher instructions for each center.

This resource contains 6 activities to be used with RED, BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN, PURPLE, and ORANGE bears. I duplicated these activities so that they could also be used with just bears in RED, BLUE, YELLOW and GREEN. These are the most common sets available.

• Ordinal Bears: Students choose 1 of 12 Ordinal Bears cards and place the bears on an ordinal strip according to the ordinal numbers. There are ordinal strips with numbers and without.

• Bear Brain Teasers: Students choose from 12 brain teaser cards that require them to solve a number problem using the counting bears.

• Pattern Puzzlers: Students choose from 12 different puzzlers strips and will use counting bears to create the patterns according to the given pattern rule.

• Where's the Bear?: Students read a set of directions in order to place the bears on a grid. They will use positional language to place the bears in the correct spot. To prepare print the answer on the flip side of the direction card so students can self check. This could also be played as a barrier game with a partner.

• Graphing with Counting Bears: Students choose from 5 different spinner mats. They spin, record their spin using tallies and then transfer the data to a bar graph. Finally they answer a simple more/less question. Laminate the spinner and graphing sheets so students can use it again and again.

• Measuring with Counting Bears: Students will choose 1 of 11 different picture cards and measure by first choosing a bear size and then placing that bear on the line on the picture to measure the length. Laminate these picture cards for repeated use.
