Product Description

Start your day in kindergarten and first grade with morning tubs and let your students socialize, play and explore to ease them into the day. Using these morning tubs for morning work is a great way to use dominoes to let you students work on important math skills in a playful way.

The goal for my morning tubs is to create activities that use common classroom manipulatives and items. They are low - prep; just print the student pages or instructions and you are ready to go.

This set contains 8 different activities to be used with dominoes. Please take a look at the preview to see all the games and activities pictured.

Each tub task has Teacher Instructions for setup and a Student Instruction card.

Cover all 10:

Students compete to cover all 10 spaces on their game board by choosing dominoes and counting the dots.

Students select 2 dominoes and find the sum of both dominoes. The student with the highest sum wins the round. First with 5 checks wins.

Who has more?:

Students choose a domino and count the dots. The students with the highest number keeps all the dominoes. The winner with the most dominoes at the end wins.

Domino count: 10 Frames/Tally Marks

Students take a domino and count the dots and then record their number using the 10 frame mat or Tally sheet. Players take turn counting and recording. The winner is the player with the highest number.

Odd or Even:

Students decide which player is odd and which player is even. Players select a domino, count the dots and determine if the number is odd or even. If it matches their mat they place it face up on the mat. If it does not they place it face down.

Making 10:

Students choose 2 dominoes that make a sum of 10. They draw those dominoes on their making 10 recording sheet.

Finding my number:

Students choose a domino and count the dots and place it on or beside the sum card.
