This adapted morning work binder is perfect for your elementary school special education or general education students. This product practices basic early learning skills that all young children need to continue to grow as learners.
✐What is the focus of this product?
This adapted binder focuses on over 20 skills
that all students will need to master as part of their elementary education experience. This product has 6 morning activities
that can be completed daily, as well as 18 additional skills
that can be practiced as needed. Each additional skill appears two times
in each of the three differentiated levels.
✐What are the morning routine activities?
The morning activities are things that can (and should!) be practiced daily. These skills are personalized by the teacher, so they are not differentiated in this binder. Students will be working on their: name, birthday, address, and phone number; as well as identifying the date and weather.
✐What are the 18 additional skills?
Each additional skill features 2 pages of activities per level. The activities included are: colors, letter work, number work, shapes, money recognition, time, addition, subtraction, word work, counting money, ordering (sequential), greatest to least, least to greatest, patterns, ordering by size (big to small), ordering by size (small to big), uppercase and lowercase matching, and counting
✐What are the 3 levels?
The 3 levels are labeled as Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
Generally, level 1
includes activities that use smaller numbers, less manipulatives/choices
(ie. a field of 3 options) or have the answers in place, that students are able to copy the already filled in information
(ie. "bed" is already printed beneath the picture and students must find the "b", "e", and "d".
Level 2 includes a larger field of choice
(ie. 5 pieces to arrange), or has a partially filled in frame
(students are given half of the answers and must fill in the missing half). Level 2 can also include larger numbers as well as matching a word to a picture (ie, students are shown a picture of a bed and must find the word "bed" with no prompting on the page.)
Level 3 is the most difficult level.
Students in this level are working with larger numbers, more pieces, and more complex skills.
For instance, students in this level will have to build the word "bed" with no support, arrange 7 objects from smallest to biggest, and arrange all letters in their appropriate order instead of only some of the letters.
✐I have a student who is great a math, and struggles with letters. Which level is for him?
Any of them! The great thing about this system and this purchase is that you can mix and match the levels. Some of my students use only Level 2 materials, but others have some activities from each level in their binder. It's flexible to allow you to mix and match without students being aware that they are "different". Students can also work towards the higher levels. My kids often have activities changed out once they have mastered the lower levels, so that they can work towards level 3.
✐Is this ok for general education students?
Yes! While it was initially created for a special education student, I have modified it and differentiated
it to allow it to be used in general education classrooms as well. Students love the hands on nature
of this product that they are able to move things around and place and replace as necessary on each page.
✐What is included with my purchase?
In total, you are receiving 239 pages.
Those pages include:
•10 pg Start Up Guide

These pages include the skills that students are learning such as money recognition and CVC word building. Each level includes 58 pages-in all you are receiving 174 pages of activities.
✐Is this a printed, hard good product?
No. This is a digital download only.
You will need to print and assemble the binder. This includes using lamination, velcro and a 3 inch binder. You also could pass out and have students work on as a cut and glue activity, or using magnets on a metal surface.
