The Daily Think™ for K-2 Now Available>>>CLICK HERE

------------------------------------------

Gone are the days of boring worksheets for morning work. Say hello to The Daily Think™! 250 Google Slides that will get your 3rd-6th grade kids reading, writing, speaking, laughing and thinking every morning or afternoon, if you do a class meeting at the end of the day. These activities are no-prep, higher order and higher fun for total student engagement. Organized into 6 different categories so every day of the week is something fun, different and intriguing.

The product literally eliminates you planning Morning Work for the rest of the year! Here’s what you’ll get (full descriptions in the Preview):

Analogy of the Week (40 slides + 1 blank template + key)

Over/Under of the Week (40 slides + 1 blank template)

Very Long Word of the Week (40 slides + 1 blank template + syllable key)

Mentor Sentence of the Week (40 slides + 1 template + 1 Parts of Speech Jamboard + Parts of Speech moveable pieces + 1 optional Mentor Sentence response sheet*)

This or That of the Week (40 slides + 1 template)

Free Write of the Week (40 slides + 1 template + 1 optional Free Write sheet*)

*This morning work is not meant to be done in isolation, independently or as homework. The power of it is thinking aloud and the cognitive process work when the teacher and others making their thinking audible for everyone to hear….ORAL LANGUAGE is key!

**Due to the collaborative nature of these activities, they are intended for oral discussion. I did create written response sheets for Mentor Sentence of the Week and Free Write of the Week if a teacher wanted to have the sheets for the students to write on, but they aren’t necessary, a notebook works just fine, too.

The best part about this product (besides the Google Slides feature) is all the slides are 100% editable. If there is an analogy, a word, image or sentence that you do not like, you can swap it out in seconds for something different that better fits your students.

The mentor texts selected for the Mentor Sentences are all titles from Epic! If you don’t have a free teacher account, that will be helpful.

If you have any questions, please ask.
