Third Grade Morning Work with Language Arts is a perfect way to start the day. This is a complete set of Morning Work papers for the whole year with two options (43 weeks). All five days fit on a two sided paper in order to save paper. A predictable format allows for independent practice. Many language and editing skills are reviewed throughout the year.
Morning work papers contain many skills like editing, alphabetical order, sequencing with transition words, synonyms, antonyms, idioms, similes, sentence structure, plural rules, editing friendly letters, multiple meaning words, prefixes, suffixes, word work, nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs and conjunctions. Many Common Core Standards are reviewed in these morning work papers.
The Monday Morning Work section highlights a prefix or suffix of the week. I let the teacher choose the affix so it can correlate with vocabulary or spelling words. There is also a sentence to edit. (Option 2 has the prefix or suffix already included.)
The Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday sections review 3 separate skills. Each day has a sentence to edit.
The Friday section is a Boggle board. I let the teacher choose the letters. (Option 2 already has the Boggle Board filled in) I like to put vocabulary words and spelling patterns in my Boggle Board. There is no editing practice on Friday, but students do need to create a correctly written sentence.
