I am very excited to bring you my 1st grade welcome work (morning work) packet because it has been very successful in my own classroom with my first graders!
This pack contains 8 full weeks (two FULL months) of morning work.
Monday-Thursday, students will complete half a page, and then will complete a full page on Friday. If you copy back-to-back, it's only 2 pages per week!
Here is how the welcome work works!
. On the first four days, students will complete a half page box that is consistent in format so they will grow to be very independent. Each half page has two parts: a sentence to work on and a math skill to practice.
On Friday, students will work on a full page that requires more open-ended, critical thinking responses. Students will read a fiction or non-fiction text and answer questions. They will then complete a math activity.
The skills covered in this packet are:
capitalization, punctuation, spelling, question and
statement sentences, handwriting, reading comprehension, plot, long vowels, vowel teams, counting, identifying numbers, addition, subtraction, skip counting, tens and ones, adding tens decomposing numbers, comparing numbers, ten more, ten less, word problems
The standards covered in this pack are:
RL.1.1, RL.1.3, RL1.7, RF1.1, RF1.3, RF1.4, L1.1, L1.2, 1.OA.A.1, 1.OA.C.5, 1.OA.C.6, 1.NBT.A.1, 1.NBT.B.2, 1.NBT.C.4, 1.NBT.C.5
