This Morning Work Freebie for 5th graders is a sample of four days plus keys, taken from my comprehensive year long unit.
This morning work is definitely unique in several ways. First, there is a full page per day (not a 1/4th of a page, not a 1/2 sheet) and the entire year long unit includes EVERY 5th grade Common Core standard for reading, language, and math, as well as social studies and science too!
It is a no-prep, easy to use tool for busy teachers to target common core and NGSS standards that spiral throughout the year. This morning work unit was a labor of love and includes engaging topics and a variety of formats throughout the year. The entire unit has timelines, maps, charts, fiction and informational text passages too!
There are lots of morning work packets out there with just math, or just language, or sometimes just math and language but as a teacher, I knew I wanted to have everything included in my morning work, so that’s the reason why I created this resource with not only language and math but also reading, science, and social studies.
Also, while this morning work is carefully aligned to Common Core standards, there is no notation on the worksheets to indicate that and they would work equally well for schools who are not common core.
Here’s what’s included in this Freebie:
Quarter 1 Monday Sample: Reading (fiction), social studies, and math
Quarter 2 Tuesday Sample: Language, science, math
Quarter 3 Wednesday Sample: Reading (nonfiction), social studies, and math
Quarter 4 Thursday Sample: Language, science, math
