Product Description
* NOTE: Part 2, a companion product to this morphology study, is now also available in the Tally Tales TPT store! You can access that product HERE

* UPDATE: This product is now available along with other great resources for morphology instruction in The Ultimate Morphology Bundle: Prefixes, Suffixes, Latin Roots, and More
***************************************************************************

These materials within this product focus on instruction for the following 8 Latin roots: port, tract, rupt, ject, struct, form, cred, fer. Review exercises are included after each set of 4 roots. If one root is taught per week, the materials will extend over a 10-week timespan. Teach them in sequence, or pick-and-choose materials as needed!

This product includes a full "How to Use these Materials" guide that outlines each material within the resource and how to use it with your students.

The following materials are included for EACH root:
* A visual reference poster for the introduction of each new root and its meaning

* Word maps for both new and familiar words with the root. One word map contains suggested words, if needed to support student learning. Differentiate this portion of your instruction by using the word web as a read-only activity, and have students highlight the root within the words provided. More advanced students may use words from their working vocabulary to complete the empty word map.

* Vocabulary practice with words and meaning match-up. Answer keys are included.

* Reading materials to support and develop reading fluency with multisyllabic words containing the root. Included are a word list, phrases, and an original passage that feature words with the root.

* Extended Practice: Students use prefixes and suffixes to create words with each root.

NOTE: Throughout this product, I utilized a font that is supportive for children with dyslexia, so these materials should be conducive to students who may display dyslexic characteristics.
