Scoot is a fast, fun game to engage all your students at the same time as a whole group. It can be used for review, test prep, or just for fun practice. It requires very little teacher prep and the kids love playing it!
This Scoot game goes with the Houghton Mifflin Reading program story "Moses Goes to a Concert" There are 32 cards in the set, with extra blank ones for you to create your own questions if needed. If you have never played Scoot with your students before, complete directions as well as tips and suggestions are included. Also includes answer key.
Many skills are covered with these questions, and many are directly related to common core standards. Here are the skills covered by the questions:
Nouns, Verbs, Pronouns, and Adjectives
Synonyms and Antonyms
Multiple Meaning Words
Subject/Predicate of a Sentence
Scoot is a super fun engaging game and there's very little for the teacher to do. Print out the cards, cut them apart, duplicate answer sheets, explain the game, and you're ready to go! These cards could also be used as task cards in a center or for early finishers.
Check back as I will be making these game cards for every story in the Houghton Mifflin Reading Program Adventures and Delights anthologies.
