In this activity, students will learn the concept of camouflage as an evolutionary trait that has adapted to specific environments. Students will learn the difficulties for organisms to be cryptic in multiple environments at the same time. They will investigate the consequences of this struggle which organisms deal with due to human altered environments. This activity will engage students visually, orally, and kinesthetically. Students will be able to use artistic skills and creativity in this activity as well as important aspects of the scientific method by making hypotheses, predictions, and observations.
