Mother Bruce by Ryan T. Higgins is an adorable story that my children just loved!
Included in this packet is a 20-question, multiple choice, true/false comprehension test. (Some of the multiple choice questions require more than one answer.) A cut-and-paste sequence of events worksheet is included. There is also a beginning, middle, and end worksheet. The students choose to write and illustrate something that happened in each of those parts. I have also included two pages consisting of six written response questions. (What might have happened if......What do you think....) Additionally, there is a vocabulary paper in which the boys and girls must use context clues to figure out the meanings of the words. There are two writing papers included--one to write a letter and one to write an opinion piece. There is also a picture of Bruce. The children need to write adjectives to describe him and include one of those adjectives in their own sentence. Last, there is a character/setting, problem/solution page.
This is such a fun story! If you don't have a copy of this book, I hope you find it in your school library or local library and read it to your class! (Scholastic is also selling it in some of their September issues!)
Thanks so much!
