It Drives My Mother Crazy When...
This is a great Mother's Day Gift! Mom's love it!
Print this out on legal size paper and have each student in the class complete the paper. Compile all of the papers and create a classroom book to share. This funny book will be a favorite for years to come!
We start by brainstorming ideas, and try to vary the responses so our book isn't boring. I also try to have the students pick things that are very specific to them. i.e. when I don't practice piano, when I stick out my tongue at my little brother, when I bring my bunny into the house, when I take things from my sister's room, I yell at the TV during games, or when I roll my eyes at her - something their mom will laugh at because it is very true.
This does take a bit of time, as I copy each students page after they have written their final version and drawn the picture, BUT before they begin to color the page. I make one copy for each student in the class. I then give the stack to the student who created that page and have them start to color one item on each page. When they have finish that they may start to color an additional item on each page. This works out great for both the detailed students and the not so detailed. Those early finishers will most likely color everything on all of the pages, while those slower to finish will have colored something on each of their pages.
When putting the book together I put the students original artwork on the top, then I place a copy of each of the other students work behind that. I also create a cover page with the title, date, and grade. Mom's Love it!
