This close reading lesson includes a one page informational text (2 versions are included so you can differentiate the according to the reading level of your students) explaining the origination of Mother's Day along with a close reading format to follow, a chart you can use with students listing ways to annotate a text, specific text-dependent questions to ask, along with suggested writing extension activities.
Note that even though there are two versions included, this is a complex text for grades 3-5. The text will be especially difficult for struggling third grade readers even though they are supported through the format of close reading. Please take a peek at the text before purchasing to make sure it's appropriate for your students.
If you purchase, please remember to earn your TpT credits, by leaving feedback. Thanks!
