Do holidays have a tendency to sneak up on you? Scrambling at the last minute to pull something spectacular together?
As a kid, I always loved the teacher who, months in advance of Mother’s Day, got out the paper cups, the potting soil, and the seeds so that we could plant flowers to bring home to Mom for Mother’s Day. I admire those teachers, but I am unfortunately not one of them. I use the excuse that my classroom is on the dark side of the building and plants don’t grow well. While that is true, I clearly am just unaware until about a week before the big day. Far too late to have a colorful live bloom.
Not to worry! How about making an alternative pot of flowers? You can buy the materials ahead of time or at the last minute, and make the plant pots the same day the kids bring them home to Mom! Colored jumbo craft sticks, glue, colored construction paper, and flower seed packets are the simple ingredients you’ll need when following the simple recipe for these adorable plant pots.
Options are provided. Print black/white sheets for your students to color, or use the ready-made colorful sets.
