After reading "The Important Book" by Margaret Wise Brown, I lead the students in a discussion about what makes mothers important. I list their ideas on chart paper making sure "Mothers love us" is listed. We then vote to decide which item is the MOST important (this usually leads to the children choosing "Mothers love us" but be prepared if it doesn't)! Students fill in the printable in the same style as the book choosing three items from the chart (older students can create their own lists) and ending with "Mothers love us" on the bottom lines. I use this as part of my Mother's Day card.
