PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Mother's Day! Mother's Day! Mother's Day! Nothing panics a teacher like finding an adorable Mother's Day activity that doesn't break the bank, but still appreciates moms!

Looking for something to appreciate moms, dads, other special adults, and volunteers that doesn't cost you a fortune?

One of the reasons I love primary aged children is because of the way they see the world. Their perspective is so innocent and adorable. I created this lesson to capture and save forever how they feel about their moms, dads, classroom volunteers, or other special adults.

These can easily be created in a day if you are in a time crunch.

My teaching partners and I went to our local dollar store and purchased clear plastic basket bags, colorful shredded paper, and curling ribbon. We then put these posters into the bags with a bit of shred, and tied them off with the curling ribbon. It really gave them that special look!

Flower 1: On this flower, children write all the activities they enjoy doing with their mother or special adult.

Flower 2 & 3: All moms are different, and each is special. In these flowers, children decide what makes their mom special. Is she a good cook or good at crafts? Maybe she is really good at fixing things. Children write what she is good at in the middle and then give examples on each petal. For example, if the child writes that she is a good cook in the middle, they then can write their favorite things she cooks on each petal.

Students can then write a story about their special person.

This includes all the ingredients of a keepsake-child's hand prints, photo, and special thoughts.

Included:
3 interactive flower templates
Templates for flower pot
Graphic organizer
Writing paper with extra page
1 page of directions and teacher tips.

THIS CAN ALSO BE EASILY ADAPTED TO MAKE A CLASS POSTER TO APPRECIATE A VOLUNTEER. I PUT THREE FLOWER POTS ON A POSTER AND GIVE EACH CHILD ONE OF THE INTERACTIVE FLOWERS.
