“Mother’s Day Present” is a reading worksheet that can be used as an activity on or near the holiday of Mother’s Day. It starts with a story about a little girl named Ava who doesn’t have money to buy her mother a present for Mother’s Day. Students will read to find out why Ava's mother ends up telling her that she gave her the best present ever! Lots of Dolch Sight Words or High Frequency Words are in the story, so your students can practice fluency and using vocabulary in context. There are two simple questions at the bottom of the page. LINES AND SPACES ARE UNEVEN FOR THE QUESTIONS IN THE THUMBNAIL, BUT ACTUALLY OKAY ON MY ACTUAL PRODUCT. The first question has the students make a judgment and the second has them write the two things Ava did for her mom. The second page is an answer key and I also provided two teaching extension activities that you might want students to do to for Mother’s Day. One extension activity gives them something to take home to mother!
