Because not all students have a biological mother in his or her life, I wanted to create an easy activity that was representative of all students. So, the instructions ask for students to create an acrostic poem for their mother, grandmother, stepmother, or for anyone who is special to them; even if that may be their dad or grandfather. So, included are two options for writing the final poems: One with "Mother" and one that is blank for those who wish to fill in the name of someone else who is special to him or her. Also included is a blank sheet to create an accompanying drawing for those fast finishers!
The instructions include a definition of an acrostic poem, an example of an acrostic poem (with the word "MAY"), and templates.
