Looking for a "beary" cute Mother’s Day gift for your students to create? Then, this writing craftivity and creative coupon book will be perfect!
In this writing craftivity, students brainstorm and write why they are thankful for their mom. This adorable writing then becomes the main part of the bear craft students create. The coupon book features 5 “kid coupons” and is a great way for students to illustrate what they will do for and with their mom.
This pack includes:
-One Mother’s Day brainstorming page for students to write ideas about what they want to thank their mom for
-One final draft page for students to write on that will be glued to the flower pot of the bear craft
-Mothers Day coupon book- featuring 5 coupons including reading a book together, helping with the dishes, and helping cook and clean. (All ideas were coupons my kiddos came up with and wanted to make for their moms).
All pages are ready for easy printing and copying with two books to a page. Just print, copy and hit the double staple feature on the copier and students are ready to illustrate and personalize each page.
-All templates are included to make the bear craft. There are two options:
Option 1- Students may use the templates that are included to just print, color and create the craft just like the picture. Option 2- Students can use the other templates where each part of the bear is separated out. Each part can be traced on to construction paper before creating the bear and gluing on the writing.
-Each flower (hand) has a phrase for students to glue on: The one on the left says, "I am "beary" lucky to have you as my mom." The other phrase on the right says, "Happy Mother's Day!"
-No mom to celebrate with? You can easily modify the bear for a student who may not have a mom to celebrate with. Bear can be made for a special person in their life, just don't add the phrases onto the flower (hands). Then, when the students make the coupon book just cut a half sheet of computer paper or construction paper and let them decorate their own front cover for the book.
*Tip: I have my students first color, then cut and finally lay out all parts to make sure they know where each part should go before gluing. I have them do this “quick look” to make sure it looks right to them and makes sense. Wouldn’t want to end up with a silly bear!
This pack is sure to help your students show how “beary” lucky they are to have the moms that they do!
