About this product

This product includes 42 different positive and motivational quotes to add to small stones/pebbles. This is a fun way to motivate students and staff and to maintain a positive environment. The motivational stones encourage a growth mindset, positivity, and helps brighten a person's day.

This product is intended to be used with the Tuscan Path Aztec Pebbles from Bunnings. The pebbles that I use are 38-44mm and come in a 1kg bag. I prefer to use the white stones, but there are other colours for you to choose from.

How to use the motivational stones:

  • Give students and staff a motivational stone as a gift.
  • Give each student a stone to keep on their desk for set amount of time. Hand out a new stone every few days or once a week so that students receive different quotes.
  • Give students a motivational stone the week before testing to help get them in a positive mindset.
  • Leave the stones outside for students and staff to find. Once they have been motivated and feel positive, they can then leave the stone around the school for someone else to find and benefit from.

How to make the stones:

  1. Cut out each oval. You can either leave the border or cut it off. I prefer to have no border so that the labels blend in with the stones better.
  2. Using a small paint brush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the stone to glue the paper down. Try to ensure that all of the edges are pressed down flat.
  3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the paper and the whole top of the stone. Don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect because you are going to repeat this step later and the Mod Podge dries clear.
  4. Once the first layer is dry, reapply another thin layer of Mod Podge over the stone. You should only need two layers.
  5. Leave the stones to dry. You will know they are ready when they are no longer sticky and when the Mod Podge has changed from a white to clear.
