I'm an occupational therapist who currently works in the school setting with all grade levels. I also have prior experience as in outpatient therapy as well as early intervention. I created this resource to share with both general and special education teachers, psychologists, administrators, and anyone else who may be working with a child currently experiencing difficulty with motor skills, attention, executive function, or sensory processing. It is ideal to use as part of the Student Study Team process, for RtI strategies, or just for any student who may be having trouble in a specific area without necessarily requiring specialized services. As it represents the vast majority of the strategies I use in my practice, it may even be useful to other occupational therapists, especially those who are new to the school setting or pediatrics. These strategies are NOT meant to replace the services of an occupational therapist but instead to bridge the gap for students who may not require this level of intervention. Always be sure to consult with your school's special education team if your student has not responded to these strategies.
