Help children learn the three vowel combinations that can represent the short "e" sound with this fun Mouse Paint Uno Game! Great for small group instruction and literacy centers!
How to Play: Shuffle the cards, deal 5 cards to each player, and lay the rest face down in a draw pile. Turn the first card face up next to the draw pile. First player must play a card that has the same short /e/ vowel combination or the same color as the mouse. If s/he cannot play, a card must be drawn until the play can continue. The game continues with each player. If a card with 3 colors is drawn, the player may use the vowel combination for the short "e" sound OR use one of the colors on the card to play. If a paint jar is drawn, the player must "Draw Two" cards and the play goes on to the next player. If a cat is drawn, the player must "Draw Four" cards and the play goes on to the next player.
The person who is able to get rid of their cards first is the winner!
