The purpose of these flash cards is to connect Physical Literacy with Literacy. They can be used in relays to designate how to move during the relay. In a dance unit the cards can be given out in sets such as a locomotor card and a pathway card.
Print the cards and cut in half width wise. Fold in half and then laminate. Make decks of cards so you have enough for every child to have at least one card of each Movement Flash Card. (level, direction, locomotor etc..)
Instant Activity: Draw a card or two and move according to the card. When the music stops students trade cards and move again.
CopyCat: Balance Pose cards-Scatter cones and place a card under each cone. Students move to music, when the music stops students go to a cone and copycat the picture. Make sure to replace the card under the cone. You can ask students what their level is or if they are an asymmetrical or symmetrical shape.
