Description

Think teaching about earthquakes is complicated? Well, it doesn't have to be because this scripted lesson makes it super easy! First teach students some earthquake basics like the difference between the focus and the epicenter, and then have them experiment wherein they build and test their own earthquake resistant structure. This geology themed lesson makes science simple and fun. Students learn great vocabulary words like focus, epicenter, and Richter scale and think critically about building structures while doing an activity that feels like play.

Scripted lessons make it easy for new teachers or group leaders to teach without extensive training. Most required materials are common household items, common school items, or easy to find art supplies. To see materials lists, standards, and other helpful notes, please download the preview.
