Description

Many movies have quotes that impact and stick with us no matter what the genre. In our Say What?!! Collection Six, Lines that Linger” we provide 20 unique and engaging lines from a wide range of movie genres including A Bronx Tale, The Breakfast Club, Godfather Part III, Into the Woods, and more! Each movie line is paired with a prompt designed to inspire, motivate, and encourage higher-order thinking in Gen Z'ers. They make it easy for you to foster discussion among your students across a wide range of concepts. Each line would also look fantastic as part of a bulletin board or outside of your classroom door, prompting students to think “when they’re not forced to do so.”

This no-prep resource is perfect for classroom teachers, librarians, substitutes, coaches, or interventionists looking for an engaging way to bring words of wisdom from the silver screen. These lines and prompts can be used as a quick bellringer or warm-up to start class, a quickwrite activity, a whole class discussion starter, or in learning centers focused on figurative language. You can use one line per day or use multiple lines at one time for Response to Intervention (RTI), homework, Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI), extra practice for struggling students, or students in special education. And don’t forget your gifted students! While it can be challenging to stretch their thinking, this resource can do the trick.

⭐ This resource’s response slides integrate seamlessly into The Instructional Black Book with 6 tabs or 10 tabs, our version of a digital interactive notebook.  It also includes a printable PDF for pencil and paper completion.
