I use this rubric after my students give their monthly book report presentations. Once a month, students are required to present a book that they had been reading throughout the month in a creative way (beyond book reports). I give one copy of the rubric to my students and assign them a partner to evaluate and explain to them that my evaluation and their evaluations should be pretty similar if we are doing a good (unbiased) and critical evaluation. As they, and myself, evaluate, they are expected to write critiques and observations next to their score and I encourage them to use words and explanations not found on the page. After the presentations are finished, students have two copies of the rubric to take home--mine and a peers.
*This was another approach to having students summarize through movies. I did this as our last set of presentations.
