When doing Speed Dating activities, I put all the desks in line and switch at random the students around every 2 minutes. One side can stay seated while the other side moves. This activity is meant for students that have already seen a movie unit and are ready (Levels 1-2). The goal is to get students talking about movies by providing them with questions to use. I try to have at least two of the questions be a “finish the sentence” for the person asking a question, so there are some different questions involved. One example would be…do you like ___________(insert recent movie here).
For accountability, students put in the name of the student and a brief summary of what was said. I also encourage a follow-up question to be asked (this does not need to be written down).
