Product Description
This is a 3-Day French Movie Talk lesson to use with the short animated film called "Simon's Cat: Fly Guy". It is easily available to watch or save from Youtube and other sites. (An easy, free way to save videos is through )

There are two files. The first file is the worksheets. In it (12 pages long in Microsoft Word) there are three different types of worksheets. All the worksheets come in three levels: French I, French II, and Advanced French III / IV. Worksheet A has a vocabulary word list and sentences about the video on the appropriate level. French I is basic and repetitive, French III / IV is more sophisticated and uses a variety of verb tenses. Worksheet B can also be used for homework. For each level, it has a screenshot of the video, and it asks students to name the places where the cat goes (chair, lamp, table, draperies, floor), and tell the order of where the cat goes. Worksheet C has the story, at the appropriate level, with blanks in it, and students are asked to fill in the missing parts of the story. Then, they are given the "bones" of a parallel story (a girl falls asleep with her dog who is woken by a bee...) and they are to write a certain amount of sentences (varies by level) of a parallel story.

The other file has 14 pages. It is teacher notes, quizzes and tests and answer keys. The teacher notes explain in detail how to do the "Movie talk" with the video. It gives examples and explanations for alternatives. There are two quizzes and a test for each level. The first quiz (1/2 sheet) is vocabulary, the second quiz (1/2 sheet) is true / false. (Vrai / Faux). The test has two parts. The first part has 15 screen shots from the video. Students need to match the mixed up sentences (the same that were used and practiced in Worksheet A) with the screen shot. Then, students are asked to rewrite the story and add a few more sentences to the story. This is also in 3 levels.

The material should take three days, but depending on your school's schedule, you could use this as half/period activities and stretch it out to 5-6 days, or you could do it all in two days if you are on longer blocks.
