Give your students that hands on approach while learning and exploring measuring skills! Three basic lessons will encompass and conquer skills in: comparing sizes, measuring in inches and measuring in feet. All three activities require students to get up out of their seats, move around, and have fun!
"Beary Large" is a lesson on comparing sizes of classroom items while using solely a bear paw as the measuring tool. Using vocabulary words such as: larger, smaller, and same as will be used.
"How big is your shoe print?" is a lesson on measuring in inches. Every child will be shocked when you tell them to step on their classwork!
Lastly, is "Dynamite Dimensions" that will teach children how to measure using a foot ruler. This activity will require some space as students explore dinosaur lengths and then compare the lengths to their own.
A bonus to these activities is a set of vibrant vocabulary cards with all the measurement words used in these lessons as well as colorful pictures.
