This Smart Notebook lesson is appropriate for elementary/middle school general music education students in grades 3/4 and up. In this interactive lesson, students will dive into the mysterious life of child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart by listening to two of his most well known compositions - "Ah, Vous Dirai Je Maman" with all 12 of it's variations included as well as his "Turkish Rondo." Both pieces include colorful listening maps, activities to check for understanding, historical & biographical information on Mozart himself, PDF/PPT flash cards for students to use to accompany the listening map to Ah Vous..., and much more. Due to copyright laws, audio files of listening pieces CANNOT be included in this lesson, however, a suggested resource is provided (the exact one I use in my classroom with this lesson) and can be purchased at a minimal cost through iTunes so that you can attach it to the file once you have purchased it. (After you've purchased the file and you proceed to open it, you will notice there are green stars on the listening map pages that say "tap to hear music." Those are the icons you will need to attach your own audio files to). Your students will be completely engaged from the beginning and you will have accomplished the goal of listening to "art music," AND having had fun doing it too!!
