Rumor/Gossip Apple Sort Game: Divide the class (or small group) into 2 teams. Each team gets a basket. Print and cut apple tree and label and glue on paper bag. Print and cut apples (30 total) and place in bag. Each student picks an apple from the bag and reads the statement. If the statement is positive, apple is placed on basket. If apple statement is negative, apple does not go on basket. The team with the most apples on basket wins the game. 6 blank apple templates included for you to write additional scenarios if desired. Download includes color and black & white versions.

Have students use comic pages to practice THINKING before speaking and practicing writing responses to help them be prepared for when they are encountered with rumors or gossip.
Safe (to Say) or Out?
Divide the class (or small group) into 2 teams. Each team gets Safe/Out base. Print and cut Safe or out label to glue on paper bag. Print and cut baseballs and rumor/gossip statements. Glue double sided (30 total) and place in bag. Each member picks a baseball from the bag and reads the statement. If the statement is something safe to talk about, place baseball on safe base. If statement is Out (not safe to talk about), baseball is placed on out base. The team with the most baseballs on safe base, wins the game. 6 blank circle templates included for you to write additional scenarios if desired. Download includes color and black & white versions.
3 Feather quote coloring pages: Have students color feather quotes to keep as a handout.
Pillow Quote: leave on classroom board. Have students fill out feather cards of what they can do to stop rumors and gossip and tape by pillow as a reminder of lesson taught.
