General education, bilingual, Spanish, special education and/or ESL teachers may use this story for teaching preschool concepts of basic colors, early language development as well as reading at first grade level. Each booklet has four pages (2 pix per page) with large font in both English and Spanish. An additional booklet without dialog may be used as a writing prompt, once the students are familiar with the story dialog.
For speech and language pathologists, these four picture sequential stories target a variety of IEP objectives (verb "is", concept happy/sad, negative "not", basic colors, pronouns "i", "he", and articulation of initial sounds /f/, /r/, /l/; and Spanish articulation of initial /k/, /r/.
The 4 8"x11" full color pictures may be used to present the story to the entire class, small groups or individual students. Each student may take home the same black and white story in English or Spanish. The file also includes a template for foods and for Mr. Red with a pocket for sorting pictures of foods or other pictures. Instructions also describe how to use the pictures as a counting activity.
