This simple but delightful story is part of a bundle of stories (Mr. Colors Stories) for use by teachers of general education, bilingual/ELL, and special education and speech pathologists, for teaching preschool concepts of basic colors, early language development as well as reading at first grade level. Each booklet has two pages (2 pix per page) with large font with separate booklets in English and Spanish.
For speech and language pathologists, these 4-picture sequential stories target a variety of IEP objectives (English: verb "is", concepts of happy/sad, negative "not", pronouns "my", "he", Where, and articulation of initial /m/, initial /h/, /r/, and final consonants. Spanish: all of above concepts plus articulation of initial /k/, /r/, /m/. )
The file includes 6 full color 8"x11" pictures (original water colors) for telling the story to the entire class, small groups or individually. In addition the file includes a template for making your own Mr. Red manipulative with pocket as well as a template for houses for a sorting activity. (see photo). The pictures of houses can also be used in a counting activity ,as described on the Introduction page.
