Vocabulary Graphic Organizer – Have your students closely analyze specific words using this graphic organizer.

Vocabulary Assessment – Use this printable to assess your students understanding of the tier 2 words studied in this story.

Fantasy / Realism Sorting Activity – I have included this activity in two different formats. The larger format is designed to be completed together as a class and the smaller format is ideal for an assessment. Both activities have the students read statements about the story and decided whether the statement are examples of fantasy or realism. The printable assessment also asks the students to create their own example of fantasy and realism.

Suffixes Printable – This activity teaches students to drop the letter e before adding –ed and –ing to words where the base word ends in an e.

Letter Editing Activity – In this activity the students will edit a letter written by the animals to Mrs. Brown. Students will rewrite the letter correcting all of the capitalization , punctuation, and spelling errors.

Rhyming Matching Cards – These 40 cards are perfect for a center. Just print onto card stock and laminate.

Multi-Meaning Words Activity – In this activity students analyze words to determine their meaning in the story Mrs. Brown Went to Town, as well as alternate meanings.

Noun / Verb Posters – Use these posters to introduce / review nouns and verbs.

Nouns and Verbs Assessment – This printable contains sentences about the story Mrs. Brown Went to Town. The students find the nouns and verbs within each sentence.

Comprehension / Discussion Questions – Use these questions to assess your students understanding of the story.

Text-to-Self / Text-to-Text Organizer – Allow students to record their text-to-self and text-to-text connections while reading the story.
